About Melvin Motors in Stonehaven

Melvin Motors has been serving drivers in and around Stonehaven since the business was founded over two decades ago. We moved into our current workshop on Slug Road two years ago – a purpose-built space that lets us take on a wider range of vehicles and do the job properly.

There are three of us here, and each one of us is a qualified technician, so when you speak to someone at Melvin Motors, you’re talking to someone who works on cars for a living.

What we do

We handle most makes and models, covering everything from routine servicing and diagnostics to repairs, tyres, and fleet maintenance. Whether you’re a private motorist or running a small fleet, we’re equipped to help.

Our workshop on Slug Road has six ramps, including a four-post ramp rated to 6.5 tonnes and a two-post rated to 6 tonnes – so we can work safely on everything from small hatchbacks to larger commercial vehicles. Our dedicated tyre bay means tyre work gets the time and space it deserves, rather than being squeezed in around other jobs.

We’re equipped to diagnose, not just guess

We’ve invested in dealer-level diagnostic equipment – Bosch KTS, Autel, and Snap-on – so when something’s wrong, we find out exactly what it is before we start work. We also have 4-wheel laser alignment technology for precise, accurate results.

This kind of equipment used to be the preserve of the franchised dealers. It’s not any more, and that’s good news for independent garage customers who want accurate answers without the main dealer price tag.

Jargon-free, honest advice

A lot of our customers come to us after a bad experience somewhere else, from garages that upsell, overcomplicate, or simply don’t explain what they’ve done or why. We work differently. If something needs done, we’ll tell you clearly and explain why. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you that too. No pressure, no guesswork, and no inflated job sheets.

We’re on Slug Road in Stonehaven – on the road to Banchory. There’s plenty of on-site parking, and a comfortable waiting area with tea and coffee if you’d like to wait while we work.
